We are a Training Practice

Manor Street Surgery is a training practice and so, from time to time, we will have GP registrars in the surgery undergoing training to become a general practitioner. Our trainees are qualified doctors and are mentored by one of the partners at all times. We would encourage you to book appointments with a trainee as they have a little more time to deal with your problem.

Expediting Hospital Appointments

Due to increased waiting times for hospital appointments, GPs have seen a rise in patient requests to “expedite” their appointments.

We are sorry that we cannot contact hospitals to chase appointments.

As a GP surgery, we are not notified of any waiting times for clinics or provided with hospital hotline numbers. We would have to call the same numbers that you would. If you are waiting for your first appointment and have not heard for a long time, please contact the out patients department in the first instance and then the consultant secretary.  If you have been unable to contact outpatients or the secretary please contacts PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) for the hospital that you have been referred to. These contact details will be on their website.

ONLY contact the surgery if you have had a change in the symptoms that you have been referred for. If that is the case, ask for an appointment with one of our doctors.
